July, 2002 (Month 14)(images from August 7 to September 5) |
I'm now over 13 months old, and my vocabulary is growing by a few words every day. I can say "Up", "Shoe", "Hat", "Hot", and a couple of other words ("Mama" and "Dada", of course), but I understand a few hundred words. It's tough for Mommy and Daddy to say something that I don't understand (so no more "I think the baby's sleeping" comments, since I hear and understand every word!). I'm eating more and more everyday, and Mommy's taking me off breastmilk (slowly but surely!). I'm still having trouble going to sleep (I just don't want to miss out on anything), but other than that, life is perfect! This week's pictures (week 4) are near the bottom of the page, so scroll down! |

Ah...the raft! This is so much fun! Watch me play! | Daddy went swimming with me first. Watch!
We played on the raft together... | ...then I sat and watched the fountain.
I tried to reach it... | ...but then I just tried to command it.
Ah, laying out and getting some sun! | I sat on the raft for a few minutes by myself!
Then Mommy came in and swam with me... | ...and we got on the raft together!
Later, we went and picked some plums. | They were really good!
Grandpa fed me some plums... | ...he sure knows how to grow 'em!
Grandma watched as we picked them. | I picked one myself.
Thanks, Grandpa! | I'm a maestra! Watch me play!
Here's the three movies from this week! |
Alex
playing the piano. Alex playing on the raft in the pool. Alex and Daddy swimming. |
|
Week 2 begins here! | ||
And we'll finish with the movies!
Mommy,
I want breastmilk! |
||
We'll have more next week!
Week 3: | ||
Alex eats ice cream on the beach! | Sometimes it gets a little messy.
But it sure tastes good! | Ooh, look...the sun is setting!
Can we go watch the sun set? | OK...Mommy and I will go down there.
All the way to the water, please! | Wow...look at that!
Daddy shows me where to look. | Oooh...it's beautiful!
Yay! The sun has set, and my arms are up! | Now I'm at Sea World with my friend Phoebe.
I'll just feed Phoebe a little...watch! | I don't usually crawl...watch me run!
I went to a birthday party...and held a shaker egg. | I kept the egg, even when...
...Daddy took me into a big bouncy thing! | Look, I can kiss Daddy through the glass!
I can do it with Mommy, too! | OK, bath time!
Whoa, bubbles! | Bubbles are fun to play with. Watch!
A little Blair Witch bathtub shot. | More bubbles. (And more videos!)
We're off to feed the ducks! | Feeding the ducks is fun. Watch!
They sure eat a lot. | Maybe I can pet one....
I'll just chase this guy! Watch! | Come here, ducks!
All right...ducks! | Ha ha! The big guy is back!
Mommy, more bread for the ducks, please. | Please...more bread! Watch me feed!
Daddy threw me in the air on Sunday... | Wheeeeee!
I love it when Daddy does this. | Just another weekend in the sun!
Tons of movies this week (13 of 'em)...enjoy! |
Alex
trusts Daddy, and walks off the table! Alex chases the ducks! Alex plays with bubbles and talks in the bath! Another fun bath movie! (Up!) Alex gets sleepy in the car! Alex running around at Sea World. Alex feeds the ducks, tentatively. Alex feeds her friend Phoebe! Alex still worried about feeding the ducks. Alex eats ice cream and watches the sun set. Alex climbs on Peanut (a little dark, but still fun). Alex steals Daddy's wallet. (All right!) Alex tries to climb on Peanut again (and falls off). |

Week 4 starts here! | ||
It's so bright outside...don't use the flash! | Augh! You used the flash again, Mommy!
Ah, that's better. Now I'll really smile! | Hah! A disk!
Now, we'll go for a walk. | Just one walk, though. (Two!)
Look...I can nod my head now! Watch this or this. | Now you do it, Mommy!
That's a little close for comfort. | I get tired when I ride in the car.
Here's a bath pic...and when I get out, you can see... | ...my Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease!
I'll show you an owie on my hand... | ...and a blister on my foot! (All better now!)
I got a swing! Yay! | I could stay on it all day long.
Really. All day. Just keep pushing. Watch! | A merry-go-round! Buckle me in!
OK...here we go! Watch! | Uh oh...is it over already?
I'll ring the bell in the boat, Daddy! Watch! | Wait...where'd Mommy go?
I can ride the car by myself! | Whoo hoo! I had lots of fun! Watch!
Here's the movies for this week: |
Alex
enjoys a boat ride at the amusement park! And she likes the car ride just as much. The Merry-Go-Round ain't half bad, either. Stand up, Alex! Sit down, Alex. Peanut is so well-behaved when Alex tugs on him. Alex got a swing in the backyard...great stuff! Alex learned how to nod this week! (Kind of dark.) Here's another nodding movie. Another example of how good a dog Peanut is. |
