April, 2002 (Month 11)(images from August 7 to September 5) |
Hey, 10 months old...coming up on my first birthday! I made a lot of progress in the last month: I can stand (I'm VERY close to taking that first step!), I'm realizing that there's a world outside of my house, I eat everything in sight, I can crawl extremely quickly, I wave to people, I say Mama/Dada/Hello/Dog/Cat/Thank You, and my personality is very STRONG! I'm playful, opinionated, tough, rough and ready to rumble! The pictures below represent my 11th month of life. SCROLL DOWN FOR THE MOST RECENT PICTURES (THEY'RE AT THE BOTTOM). WE'RE CURRENTLY ON WEEK 4! |

...this great pink rabbit...I jumped on its back... | ...and squealed with delight!
Monday night, we went swimming... | ...and Daddy wanted to show you...
...all the stuff I can do! | I jump off the side...
...I come up for air... | ...check out this movie!
I also like looking at Mommy. | Just four more laps, Daddy!
After swimming, Mommy put me in a robe... | ...and I played on the floor with eggs!
Here, Daddy...take this... | OK, I'll take it back.
It looks like I'm walking, doesn't it? | Mommy took me to play group on Tuesday.
Later in the week, I figured out how to use this! | I walk all over the house with it now!
Here's a typical evening: Daddy reads to me... | ...and I turn the pages.
Then I spot Mommy, and I ask her... | ...for milk (open hand, close hand).
Mommy always gives it to me. :-) | Friday night, we babysat Katie.
Katie didn't like the reading part much. | But I think she liked Mommy.
On Saturday, everyone came over! | Great Grandma and Grandma read to me...
...and I asked for more. | So Daddy read to me in the afternoon.
And then I played with Grandma's glasses. | She's got such neat glasses!
Look, there we are in the mirror! | I like it when Grandma reads to me.
Everyone's reading to me...it's great! | Here's Great Grandma...I love her!
And I finally warmed up to Grandpa. | We did a lot of reading.
And I paid close attention... | ...especially when he pointed.
Here, I'll turn the page, Grandpa! | The toys they brought were great!
Especially this mystery toy. | Then on Sunday, we went to the park.
I did some more walking... | ...played on the swings with Mommy...
...ate watermelon... | and played with another dog.
There were lots of people there... | ...but I only cared about my family.
A WEEK IN THE LIFE... | ...OF ALEX WILLOW!
Week 2 begins here! |
Mommy got free tickets to the Padre game! | Of course, they were pretty far away.
Daddy and I point to something faaaaar away. | But it was nice to be there as a family.
The people behind us were really interesting! | Saturday morning, I slept on the couch.
Ah...nothing like a weekend nap! | Sunday, we went for a bike ride!
We went up the street... | ...and then down the street!
As a special AW bonus, we have
three Alex
and Mommy doing the Chicken Dance |
I really like riding the bike! (Really, she does.)
Week 3! |
Time to play at Sea World! | Let's just climb down here...
Uh oh...(I just say "Uh" and leave off the "oh") | Mommy, that's not going on the site, right?
Oh, well, it's all good! | Really -- it's ALL good.
Here I am at Nana's house! | I have buckets of toys everywhere!
It's great when Daddy gets home from work... | ...lately, it's still daylight out!
Now we're off for a ride... | ...sleep can only be a few minutes away!
We've got more movies this week! (4) | My first steps, caught on video!
And here's even more steps... | ...and more! (Although I can't always figure it out...)
Week 4: |
Gettin' ready for the wedding with my duckie... | Daddy, turn the flash off -- you don't need it!
Here I am with Mommy, Tony and Sharon! | All the bridesmaids wore funny dresses.
Mommy held me when the speeches happened. | Now it's time for dancing! Care to join?
Uh oh, Daddy -- who are those dancers? | Oooh...it's the entertainment!
I'm getting VERY tired. | But I still danced with some fun girls.
And I definitely danced with Mommy a lot.... | ...but as I said, I was getting tired.
Let's call it a night! Sharon, have a great honeymoon! | At home the next morning with my balloon.
I REALLY like my balloon. I know it by name. | I like the dog, too...and I know HIM by name.
Nap time...Mommy sneaked in and took this. | Check out my foot...at least IT'S free.
Hmmm...what's this...a book? | See -- I can read by myself now!
At the park! I got a new visor (it was sunny). | Ah, my visor and a balloon...perfect!
It's sunny, Mommy...give me my visor back! | Another perfect day in San Diego!
Mommy, wazzat? (She says that a lot.) | Oh, it's a leaf. Wazzat?
Wazzat? Oh, it's the da-DA! (The doggy.) | He's so much fun to play with!
It's Movie Time! | Here's a movie of Alex talking to Peanut.
Here's another funny Alex-Peanut talker. | Riding the bike with Daddy and Peanut.
Story time with Daddy! | Alex walking, holding Mom's hand (saying "Whazzat?").
