May, 2002 (Month 12)(images from August 7 to September 5)

I'm 11 months old...and I'm still not quite walking (at least, at the beginning of the month).  I'm really close, though...in fact, I'm able to walk (I've taken a few steps), but I won't walk by myself -- I have to be holding on to something (a hand, a table, something solid).  I'm starting to understand more and more things every day, and I'm pretty much understand what my parents are asking/telling me:  "Where's my nose?", "What sound does a dog make?" ("Arf!"), "What sound does a snake make?" ("Hssss"), and lots more.  I eat everything in sight, I'm starting to sleep better on my own, and my hair's getting longer!

Most recent pictures (from my BIRTHDAY!) are at the bottom (scroll down to week 4)!

I played with a bunch of flowers... ...but mostly I played with Mommy.
On Saturday, we all went to the market. I love looking and waving at things!
Hey...what's that? It's a balloon, from the market!
Ha ha!  I got the balloon! Wow, lots of balloons...I love balloons!
I can even stand and hold them!  Watch me! Then I played with my doll! Watch me!
And then I looked in the fridge.  Watch me! And I kept getting into mischief.
Later on, I played with my ball tower. It's fun to watch the balls go down!
Daddy took a picture of us Sunday morning... ...before I took my customary nap.
Here I am with my lawnmower... Daddy, do you want this block?
Week 2 begins here!
I played with my walker during the week... And then I played ball with Grandpa!
There's a movie of this, if you want to see it. OK, let's get this ball out of here.

Here's me and Grandpa/Grandma (and a movie!) Lemons taste funny!
Whoops!  I dropped the lemon... ...and it rolled when I stooped down...
Hey, lemon!  Where'd you go? There you are!  Oh...let's go riding!
Mommy kept taking pictures of... Grandma, Mommy and me.
Are we almost done with these pictures? Good, we must be done.  Ah, a bench!
More pictures?  At Grandma's Mother's Day breakfast. Whew...back on the bench!
OK...here's all of Daddy's attempts at creating the perfect Mother's Day picture with Alex...

But here's the eventual winner:
Happy 1st Mother's Day, Mommy! (from Alex and Daddy)
And here's all the other movies for the week: Alex walks to get a stuffed bear (great!)
Alex walks across the room to Daddy

 Alex heads towards a hug
 Alex walks to Daddy again
Alex heads to Mommy

Alex walks down the front path

Alex points to her nose

Alex climbs the steps

Alex eats peas for dinner
Week 3!
Ha ha!  I've got the crackers! (I steal them a lot.) Uh oh...Mommy caught me.
Whew...at least I get to eat one. Thanks, Mommy!
The PlayGroup had a celebration for May babies! I got to practice for next week.
Here's the four May babies...aren't we cute? Now Mommy took me outside.
Yeah, I'm eating a cracker...so what? Here...you want some?
Mommy, let's go inside now. Who's that outside?
I think it's Peanut! Yup, it's Peanut...Dah-DAH!
Check out this week's movies: Alex giving a doll to Peanut

Remember...it's Alex's birthday celebration at the house next week!
Week 4: Birthday Week!
Earlier in the week, we played outside... ...with my new doll (which I LOVE).
Sometimes I walk to Mommy with the doll...(Watch!) ...and sometimes I walk away.
Here, Daddy -- you hold the doll! Uh oh...Daddy, don't take the doll away.
Here's me and Mommy (and my doll, of course). Jen make this GREAT balloon cake for my birthday!
C'mon, Daddy...just give me the cake already! OK, let me dig in!
Hmmm...it's fun to play with.... But I don't like cake!  (Everyone else did!)
Here, Mommy...you want some? OK, let's open some presents.
So many presents! (Including this great bunny chair!) Let's see what this card says....
Daddy, bring on the next gift! All right...keep 'em coming!
I think books are my favorite. Ah hah...I got my doll back!
This is my friend Gabby... And here's me, Gabby and Charlie!
Now for some random party shots... Look at all the babies!
Joe and Connor played ball. I played on my new playhouse with David!
Up the slide, down the slide. Nickelle and Jim played with me too.
And Aunt Kathy helped me walk. After the party, I hung out with the family.
Here's me and Grandpa... ...and me and Great Grandma.
Look, it's Unky J! (And my belly!) Now for some shots of my toys.
I got a puppet from Aunt Barbara! And this cool toy dog from Nonna and Nonno.
And finally...a Vespa from Aunt Denise & Uncle Eddie! Yes, it has a real motor.  Watch me ride!
Let's close with the movies from this week: I can answer lots of questions!
Ask me anything!
Here I am, walking outside.
And here I am walking to Mommy.
Watch me ride my Vespa!
Thanks to EVERYONE who came to my party...I had a great time!  (And, as usual, everyone
was WAY too generous...I obviously have some GREAT friends.)
