August, 2003 (Month 27)(images from August 7 to September 5)



Well, this is the month that Alex has gotten to live with her baby sister, and she's doing great.  She's such an attentive sister, and it's great to hear her sing songs to Charlie when she's crying, or say "It's OK, Charlie!" or "What's wrong, baby Charlotte?".  She can sometimes be a little rough with her, but generally, she's very considerate and gentle.  Speaking of singing songs, Alex can sing about 15 songs really well:  the "ABCs", "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep" (all to the same tune, of course);  Monkeys on the Bed, Rock a Bye Baby, Wheels on the Bus, and many more.  (Of course, she just fills in sounds for some of the words, but she knows what she's doing.)  She's also asking a lot of questions (How?  Why?), and she's extremely healthy:  contrary to her first year of life, when she often had a cold, she almost never gets sick these days.

  Ah, there you go, baby Charlotte! The three of us:  smiling, smiling, and crying.
 
  I like to wear Daddy's hats! But the flash in my face is too much!
 
  Here, Daddy...you take the hat. Now let me take the camera.
 
I played on the rubber band thing with... ...Georgio and Grace!  Time for a picture!
Daddy held me and Charlie in his office. And then Mommy let me hold Charlie by myself!
OK...now we're out feeding the ducks. Here, ducks!  Have some bread!  (Watch!)
 
  What's that?  More ducks?  Let me get them! (Watch!) What are you pointing at, Daddy?
 
  Oh, Mommy's taking our picture? Let me take a picture with Mommy.
 
  There's Mommy and Charlotte... ...and now the three of us will feed the ducks.
 
  Hi, Daddy!  It's your three girls! OK...time to go?  Let's go swimming! (We did!)
  There are 3 movies this week:  

Daddy swings me on the "Merry-go-round"! (22 sec.)
Watch me feed (and chase) the ducks! (15 sec.)
More duck feeding! (27 sec.)

 
     
 
August 18- 31 I'm playing with my stroller in the shadows... ...ah, there -- you can see me better!
 
  Daddy?  Want to play with my stroller? (Watch!) Ooh, we're watching a scary movie!
 
  This is me with my little sister, Charlotte. Now we're at Sea World watching the circus!
 
  It was pretty amazing.  Daddy held me! (Watch!) And we got one good family picture in.
  There are 3 movies this time around:

I played with Red Riding Hood and my stroller. (21 sec.)
I watched the circus at Sea World! (23 sec.)
I tried to give Charlie raisins in our stroller. (13 sec.)
  Later at night, I tried to give Charlie raisins! (Watch!)
