Update (November 12, 2006): I'm 6 weeks old!

(Another guest Mommy update!) Chase has been a very good baby so far.  He has blended in with our family and our routines very well.  So far there has been no jealousy from the big sisters for the attention that he receives.  They are quick to help out however they can, by fetching diapers, wipes, clothes, socks, hats, and blankets for their baby brother.   Both girls sing to Chase when he starts to cry and he seems to recognize their voices and it calms him. Alex reads stories to him everyday and Chase loves to hear her. 

Chase doesn't mind having his clothes or diaper changed which happens a lot since he goes potty so often (8-10 day).  He enjoys car rides and the swing.  But Chase's favorite things to do are drink, sleep and take a bath.  Chase loves to drink milk.  He'd drink every waking minute if it were up to him.  In fact, I believe if he could drink while sleeping and taking a bath he'd be thrilled.  Chase is getting much stronger now.  He starting to hold up his head much better, and he is able to track people as they walk around him.  He started giving us regular smiles around 5 weeks old (surprisingly, Daddy gets them more than Mommy at the moment).  His has an adorable smile which is tricky to catch on camera.

During Chase's first month of life:

• He spends approximately six to eight hours awake each day.

• He eats approximately 80% of his awake time.

• He accompanies Mommy everywhere, including drop-offs and pick-ups to preschool.

• He was circumcised by his doctor when he was three and a half weeks old.

• He smiles for his favorite faces - especially daddy and mommy.

• He's begun cooing.

So Chase's arrival has gotten us to update the site more frequently;  we'll see if this keeps up!  In the meantime, Alex's site and Charlie's site just got updated as well, so go check them out!!
