October, 2003 (Month 3)



As Charlie enters her third month of life, it's pretty clear that she's starting to recognize people -- certainly, the sight of an oncoming Mommy always brings a smile to her face, and she knows that an oncoming Alex probably means lots of touching.  Daddy can get her to smile (but not always).  She's growing by leaps and bounds...she's well over 12 pounds already (50% growth in 75 days!), as evidenced by the chubbiness she's got on her arms, legs and chin.  Her routines are pretty good, and she can sometimes sleep about seven hours at night, especially now that Mommy has her sleep in the crib in the other room (if she smells Mommy, she doesn't sleep as well).  Her favorite spots:  the bouncy chair and the swing.  Favorite food:  milk.  Favorite sister:  Alex.

Sept 29-Oct 12 Let's start the week in bed, with my sister. Mommy took a lot of close-ups of me.
Here, I'm wondering what's on Mommy's face.  An ear? Now I'm wondering about that camera...
And I think I'm getting the hang of this. Oh, you want me to smile?  OK!
OK, that's it.  No more pictures. Ooh, OK -- one more on my tummy. I like this position!
This is what I do the majority of the time I'm awake. Hey, it's my first photo shoot!
First I faced the lady... (Watch!) Then she bounced me as I got some face time. (Watch!)
I'm not sure she knew what to do with me... ...but I acted like a star throughout! (Watch!)
Alex likes to rock me in the bouncy seat. Mommy just likes to take pictures.
Alex says, "You're so cute!" (It's true, isn't it!) What, you want ONE last smile?

October 13-28 This week, I got to watch my sister at ballet class. Then I just hung out in overalls and a bandana.
Yup, just hanging out, looking cute. See, here's more of the cute stuff.
And a little more... ...and even a little smile.
Alex came in to help me finish the shoot. She also helped me take a bath.
Sometimes she gets very close. I'm such a happy baby!  (Watch!)
I give Mommy the biggest smiles! Whoa, I can't sit up just yet, Mommy.
Drooling is funny! Sometimes, when I'm tired, I cry a little.
But it usually passes when I see something interesting. Hey, it's the three girls!
And now it's the two girls with Daddy! Nina has an interesting face.
This is Mommy trying to get artistic. Alex came in and saved me.
Aren't we cute? OK, time to go.  Get my clothes!
