January, 2004 (Month 7)

Here's the "state-of-the-Charlotte" report for the month of January, 2004:  She can sit up for long periods of time, and she loves to play with toys.  No teeth yet, but they must be coming: everything goes right to the mouth, and she loves it when you rub her gums.  She's very good at reaching and grabbing things, and she loves looking at faces.  She's not quite as amenable to the swing or the bouncy seat as she used to be -- she wants to play!  Her sister is alternatively very loving, and pretty rough on her (grabbing toys away, hitting her (lightly) to see what reaction she can get, etc.).  Charlie's starting to eat solid foods (oatmeal, broccoli), and she sleeps extremely well (not necessarily all the way through the night, but her naps are great!).  No words or regular sounds yet (other than raspberries)...we're a few months away still!
