December, 2003 (Month 6)



As Charlie turns 5 months old, she's progressing very well physically:  she's sitting up quite well (at least a few weeks before her sister did), and she's rolling over and grabbing toys.  But she's also not making word-sounds yet -- she's pretty vocal, and likes to coo and yowl, but she's not doing the "ba-ba-ba-ba"s that her sister was doing by now.  (Obviously, nothing to worry about, just interesting to point out.)  She's also sucking her thumb and grabbing for toys very well.  She's not yet eating solid food, but we'll convert that by the next update.  Still very happy and easy -- her sleeping habits haven't been great since a sickness early in the month, but she'll be easy to get back to sleeping through the night again (poor Mommy!).

We'll start with a good picture of me and my sister. Now I'm getting ready for Xmas!

By the way, I was just over 4 months... ...when these pictures were taken.

Shortly after this picture was taken... ...I fell asleep.
I love my exercise mat! And I also like this pink blanket.
Mommy obviously does too... ...because she took a lot of pictures with me on it.

We're ready to take a bath! I love my nightly baths!
I get to hang out with Mommy and Alex! And I really like looking in the mirror.
I can catch your eyes in the mirror... ...but what I really like looking at...
...is myself! This is us in the bath.
Alex likes to kiss me on my mouth. I'll chew on my fingers.

And here I am with Grandma! Now I'm sitting on the laundry basket...
...is that Alex under the basket?  (It is!) One of my favorite nap places.
We love to play on the carpet in the living room. It's fun to lay on Daddy!
My sister was crying while she held me... ...and then she tried to hold my mouth shut!
I got to sit on Santa's lap (the reason Alex was crying). But when we got to sit by ourselves, she was happy.

Oh my goodness! Xmas eve, we're getting ready for presents!
I can't wait! I don't really know what Christmas is yet...
...but now that I can sit up, I like toys! My sister was more excited than I was.
Mommy, you're making funny faces behind the camera! I got a doll for Xmas, and played with Papa!
I sat in my bouncy seat while the presents were opened. And then we watched a little TV.
Mommy got a close-up to wrap up Xmas morn! Almost done...some belly shots on the carpet.
