August, 2003 (Still in month 1)



Charlie is now two weeks old, and she's starting to check out the world!  Her sleeping patterns are pretty consistent (although not quite as deep as the first two weeks, which is probably a good thing) -- she's pretty easy (especially compared to her sister!).  She's nursing very well, and although she lost a little weight, she's still very healthy.

August 4-10: This is me and my sister Alex! (I'm the one sucking.) Here's Mommy, Alex and me on the couch.
Aren't I cute? Someday, I'll be as big as my big sister.  But not today.
I think I'm smiling here! Who's big hand is that (closed so it won't get me dirty)?
Ah, a bath with my sister. I'm actually very calm in the bathtub.
Even when my sister gives me kisses! Look how little I am!

August 11-17: Hmm hmm...just sitting, looking around! Mommy, is that a camera?  Better get used to it!
Mommy, is this a baby basket or a laundry basket? Either way, it's pretty comfortable.
I think I'll just hang out here awhile. Kinda like this.
Ah, another laundry basket!  Time for a nap. I could sleep here all day!
Hey, I think I've seen these clothes before... ...yup, they were on my sister!

August 18-25: Yes, it's true:  sometimes I cry! Now we'll start with the one-month photo shoot.
This is a cute one...but let's try it with a hat. Yeah, that's nice.
Should I give you a funny look? Or maybe we'll try a different hat.
This is my convenience-store-robbery look. Now we'll try it lying down...
...and here's a little tummy time. My mobile-lying-down-thing is fun!
My sister kisses me, even when I'm crying. She's sweet, isn't she?
This is me with my Nina and Papa in the park. And here I am, lying on the bed...
...just wearing my overalls, minding my own business. Hey, my sister joined me!
I'm not sure I like that. (But she sure does! I know she loves me.
